S. R. O. No. 181/2013.--In exercise of the powers conferred by

sub section (1) of section 2 of the Kerala public Scrvices Act, 196g

(19 of 1968), read wilh scction 3 thercof, the Governmcnt of Kerala hereby

makc thc following rulcs furthcr to ampnd the Kerala Service Rules, namely:-



l. Short title and commencement.-(1) Thcse rules may be catted ttre

Kerala Scrvice (5th Amendmcnt) Rulcs, 2013.

(2) Thcy shall bc dccmcd to havc comc inro forcc on the 7th 


2. Amendment of the Rules.--In Part III of thc Kcrala Scrvice Ruics,

in sub-rule (a) of rule l, bcforc thc existing proviso, thc following proviso

shall be inscrted, namcly:--

"Providcd that thc rules in this part shall not bc applicablc to thc

cmployees appointed on or aftcr thc lst day of April, 2013."

(As per G. O. (P) No. 20/2013/Fin. datcd 7th January 2013, the (iovemmcnt

have decided to implcmcnt the National Pcnsion Systcm with cffcct from thc

lst day of April,2013 in respcct of all appointmcnts made on or after the lst day

of April,2013. to give statutory validity to thc above Goverqmcnt Ordcr, the

Government havc dccidcd to amcnd Part III of thc Kerala Servicc Rules.

The. notification is intcnded to achicvc thc above objcct.
