Foreign Service
Accepting pay and allowances from a fund other than Government Fund and discharging duties in an entity whose fund is not treated as Govt Fund is called with due Government permission is called a Foreign Service.
Not to be confused as serving a foreign country.
This is possible only when prior Government sanction is obtained by the officer.
Ex.
If a DySP in the Kerala Police Department chooses to accept the post of Chief Security Officer of Titanium Products, Tvm , his salaries and allowances are met from the said corporate fund and not from the Consolidated Government Fund.
In this case he is said to be in Foreign Service
