Personal Pay
Additional pay to compensate a fall in Basic Pay not due to any disciplinary action.
This is allowed only up to the stage where the difference is fully compensated.
Example.
An officer was drawing a 57440/- as BP in 40640-57440 scale. The post is abolished and he is absorbed into another post with a scale 36140-49740.
As per Rules his new pay is ordinarily fixed at 49740/- which is the maximum in the new scale. But he was drawing 57440/- which is not in his current scale of pay.
His last salary of 57440/- needs to be protected , salary will not decrease in any normal event except in case of disciplinary demotion etc.
Hence 7700/- is allowed as Personal Pay to compensate this loss. This Personal Pay portion decreases with the rise in the pay.
